WINNIPEG - Eric Comrie earned his fourth straight win in net for the Jets as Winnipeg beat the New Jersey Devils 2-1 last night at the Prudential Center. Comrie posted a .971 save percentage, stopping 33 of the 34 shots he faced.
Brendan Dillion gave the Jets the early lead with his second goal of the season but Jack Hughes scored late in the first to tie things up. Kyle Connor’s 35th goal of the season with less than a minute to go in the second period turned out to be the game winner.
Retired Devil Travis Zajac was honored by New Jersey prior to the game for hitting the 1000th game milestone last season. This was a classy move by the organization as they honored the Winnipeg born Zajac when the Jets were in town.
The Jets road trip continues tonight against the New York Islanders. The Islanders have won the past four meetings, limiting the Jets to just six goals in that span. Puck drop is 6:30pm (TSN3, 680 CJOB/Power 97).
