Jets Drop 4 In A Row

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets have now lost four games in a row and have scored just four goals on 153 shots after an embarrassing 3-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets last night at Nationwide Arena.

Gregory Hofmann got Blue Jackets on the board with just under five minutes to go in the first when he took a Max Domi feed on a 2-on-1 and put it past Connor Hellebuyck and took that lead into the third when Zach Werenski scored on the power play. Andrew Peeke scored into the empty net with 3:33 to go to send the mostly lubricated Thanksgiving eve fans home happy.

My friend Andrew “Hustler” Patterson of Winnipeg Sports Talked summed up last night’s game in a Tweet – “Another night of making the opposing goalie look like Marty Brodeur in his prime. 0 goals on 36 shots” referencing the great play of Columbus goalie Elvis Merzlikins. On the other side of the ice Connor Hellebuyck stopped 29 shots in another losing effort.

The Jets road trip gets even tougher tomorrow when the Jets face the Central Division leading Minnesota Wild in St. Paul. Paul Stastny will practice later today with the team and may be in the lineup for that one. Stastny has missed the last 8 games due to injury. Puck drop is 2:30pm (TSN 3, 680 CJOB/Power 97).
