Winnipeg Jets Double Minnesota

Jets Double Minnesota

WINNIPEG - On Monday night, the Winnipeg Jets looked like the team from the 1980-81 season; the squad that won only nine games all year. Last night, they looked like Stanley Cup contenders, blasting the Minnesota Wild 6-3 at Canada Life Centre.

The Jets shook off a weak first period and never looked back. Mark Scheifele recorded the fifth hat trick of his career and added an assist with Captain Blake Wheeler collecting 4 assists. Scheifele extended his goal streak to five games; he has seven goals and four assists in that span. Cole Perfetti, Kyle Connor, and Paul Stastny were Winnipeg’s other scorers. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 33 of the 36 shots he faced. The Jets are 4-2-1 in their last seven games and are 20-19-8 on the season.

The Jets homestand continues tonight when the Seattle Kraken make their first appearance in Winnipeg. Puck drop is 7pm (TSN3, 680 CJOB/Power 97).
