Jets Defeat Colorado

WINNIPEG - Kyle Connor surpassed Patrik Laine for the most goals in a single Winnipeg Jets (2.0 era) season with his 45th as the Jets beat the Western Conference leading Colorado Avalanche 4-1 last night at Canada Life Centre.

After 2 periods of scoreless hockey, it looked like a familiar tune was going to be heard when the Avalanche’s J.T. Compher beat Connor Hellebuyck at 5:03, but the Jets answered back in a big way with 3 goals in less than 4 minutes from Adam Lowry, Blake Wheeler, and Kyle Connor. Nikolaj Ehlers added at 16:18 to seal the Jets deal.

The Jets out worked, out played, out hit, and out shot the Avalanche (44-31) with Hellebuyck making 43 saves for his 200th career win in his franchisee record-setting 380th game.

The homestand continues for the Jets Wednesday night when they face the Philadelphia Flyers at 6:30pm (SNW, 680 CJOB/Power 97).
