Jets Blank Detroit

WINNIPEG - After waiting nearly a week to hit the ice following an embarrassing 7-1 loss in Denver, the Winnipeg Jets, without Nikolaj Ehlers, Paul Stastny, Brenden Dillon, and others, earned a 3-0 win against the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena last night.

Michigan natives Andrew Copp, Kyle Connor and Connor Hellebucyk were the home town heroes for the visitors; Copp with two goals, Connor with a goal and assist, and Hellebuyck with 33 saves for his second shutout of the season.

Late in the game, Detroit had a 5-on-3 advantage for 47 seconds and emptied the net for an extra attacker but weren’t able to score. Defenseman Dylan Samberg, making his NHL debut, picked up an assist on Copp’s first goal.

The Jets next see action in Washington on Tuesday night. Puck drop is at 6pm (TSN3, 680 CJOB/Power 97).
