WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets gave interim head coach Dave Lowry an early Christmas present with a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues Sunday afternoon at Canada Life Centre.
Paul Stastny led the Jets with 2 goals and an assist; one of them the eventual game winner at 4:40 of the third period. Nikolaj Ehlers also had a strong game with a goal and 3 assists, and Mark Scheifele had a 2 point afternoon with a goal and an assist. The Jets outshot the Blues 34-28 and Connor Hellebucyk made 26 saves for Winnipeg. The Jets are now 14-11-5 and with the win, ended a three-game winless streak.
The Jets holiday break will come a little earlier than planned as they will not play another game before Christmas after the NHL and NHLPA agreed to postpone cross-border travel until after the Christmas break. The Jets are scheduled to face the Minnesota Wild on December 27th in Winnipeg.
