WINNIPEG - New and gently used warm winter clothing for Winnipeg's homeless is more important now with the colder temperatures. True North Sports + Entertainment is helping by providing more donation locations for new and gently used warm winter clothing.
The North Point Douglas Women's Centre has seen a dramatic increase in need with more than 150 people dropping in each day looking for various items of warm clothing.
"Too many times our team comes across people who do not have the basic needs of proper winter boots, toques, mitts and socks. This is a constant need in these Winnipeg winters for many of our community," said Tara Zajac, the centre's Executive Director.
You can drop off new or gently used adult and youth winter clothing at any Jets Gear location through Dec. 24, including at the Bell MTS Place Jets Gear location during upcoming Jets and Moose home games.
