Fans Boo Jets

WINNIPEG - As the clocked ticked down, a smattering of boos could be heard from the well below capacity crowd at the Canada Life Centre after the visiting Buffalo Sabres snapped a seven game winless streak win a 4-2 win over the lifeless Winnipeg Jets. After the game, 680 CJOB’s Kelly Moore called it “disturbing” and I couldn’t agree more. 0 for 3 on the powerplay. No series scoring chances in the third period. Out goal tendered. The list goes on and on.

The Jets made the virtually unknown Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen look like the second coming of Roger Crozier as he made 34 saves for his first win of the season while at the other end, Connor Hellebuyck stopped only 23 of the 27 shots he faced.

The Jets got goals from Pierre-Luc Dubois (his 14th) and Nikolaj Ehlers (his 11th). Dubois also had an assist for a two point night.

The Jets host Washington Friday night with a puck drop at 7pm. (TSN 3, 680 CJOB/Power 97). Expect some changes before that time.
