Winnipeg Hotel Fire

WINNIPEG - 15 people have been moved to temporary accommodations after a fire at a downtown hotel. Two cats were also rescued.

A Winnipeg Transit bus was brought in to hold the residents while crews took about 20 minutes to extinguished the blaze in the 700 block of Main Street.

Officials say the hotel’s sprinkler system went off which helped to keep the flames from spreading.

The cause is under investigation and there’s no damage estimate yet.
