NEW EQUIPMENT USED ON GRASS FIRE

WINNIPEG - Firefighters battled a grass fire last night near Fermor Avenue and Plessis Road.

Grass littered with railway debris burned for a couple hours.

New wildland fire apparatus was used to bring the flames under control and protect nearby businesses and structures.

No one was hurt. It's believed the blaze was started by a passing train.

It's a good reminder that conditions are very dry right now.
