WINNIPEG - Three firefighters were hurt battling a large commercial blaze in downtown Winnipeg on Saturday morning. They were transported to hospital with minor injuries in stable condition.
The flames began about 2 a.m. at 843 Main Street but quickly spread to at least two other structures. More than a dozen people in nearby homes and an apartment building had to be evacuated to a city bus as a precaution.
Northbound Main from Higgins to Selkirk was closed for several hours.
There’s no word yet on what caused the fire or a damage estimate but three buildings were a complete loss.
