WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra will involve more than 13,000 students in grades 4-6 starting March 13 in their annual Adventures in Music Program. They will discover how music inspires dance, imagery, movies and movement. Adventures in Music is presented over eight concerts, including one French performance, at the Centennial Concert Hall.

The Adventures in Music program showcases a variety of styles of music and provides opportunities for students and teachers to perform on stage with the WSO through movement and song as well as string and recorder ensembles.

This year’s program, Music in Motion, explores the world of music through movement and dance. Music in Motion welcomes exciting guest artists Momentum Aerial, the Romanetz Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, ballet dancers from the Shelley Shearer School of Dance, drum-singer Cory Campbell and dancer Melvin Starr. Students will enjoy orchestral performances of works by Harry Freedman, T. Patrick Carrabré, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, John Williams and more.

There are a limited number of tickets available for purchase ($20 each) at the Winnipeg performances between March 13 and April 25. Tickets can be purchased through the WSO Box Office at 204-949-3999.
