Winnipeg Police Arrest Two in October Shooting

WINNIPEG – On October 12, at approximately 10:40 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police said they responded to an incident during the evening of October 12 in the 400 block of Adsum Drive after reports gunshots were heard coming from a home.

Police found a man unconscious in the house suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, 19-years-old, was taken to hospital in critical condition. He was eventually upgraded to stable condition.

On October 14, 2019, police arrested two suspects at separate residences in the Maples neighbourhood. One suspect was found to be wearing two sets of body armour at the time of his arrest.

Jaycee Ryan Danielson, an 18-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

– Point Firearm

– Use Firearm During Commission of Offence

– Careless Use of Firearm

– Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

– Armed Robbery Using Firearm

– Aggravated Assault

– Possess Weapon

– Possess Loaded Prohibited Weapon

– Discharge Firearm with Intent

James Cole Richard, a 24-year-old man of the Lake St. Martin area, has been charged with:

– Point Firearm

– Use Firearm During Commission of Offence

– Careless Use of Firearm

– Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

– Armed Robbery Using Firearm

– Aggravated Assault

– Possess Prohibited Device

– Possess Weapon

– Carry Concealed Weapon

– Possess Loaded Prohibited Weapon

– Possess Body Armour without Valid Permit x 2

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2

Police obtained and executed two search warrants resulting in the seizure of 9 firearms (including shotguns and rifles) and 1,200 rounds of ammunition.
