Man Hospitalized with Serious Head Injury

WINNIPEG - A man was punched twice by the same person, resulting in hospitalization for a serious head injury.

Police were notified that the victim had been drinking with several people at a home on Euclid avenue when he began arguing with another man. The man eventually punched him causing him to fall and hit his head. He was taken to the hospital and treated for a head injury before he was released.

He returned to the same address on Euclid Avenue where he again got into a verbal dispute with the same man. Again, the suspect punched him and he fell, hitting his head and losing consciousness.

The suspect left the victim where he fell and fled the area. A passer-by located the victim who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

On July 1, 2019, police arrested 21 year-old Darius Francis Harvey Maytwayashing and have charged him with Aggravated Assault. He has been detained in custody.
