Cop Dragged By Stolen Car

WINNIPEG - A Police officer is recovering after being dragged by a car in Winnipeg on the weekend.

It happened on Saturday at about 2 p.m. when the lone female officer pulled over a car that was reported stolen from Winnipeg Avenue.

While speaking with the male driver, he put the car in gear and took off, dragging her two meters before she was able to free herself.

She was taken to hospital while other cops found the car near Arlington Street and Logan Avenue.

The injured officer was treated and released, as her fellow officers arrested a 30 year old man who faces 38 charges including firearms offences and assault.

A 47 year old woman has also been charged with eight counts.
