Homicide Record Broken

WINNIPEG - Police are investigating after a man was shot in the downtown area and then died.

Officers were called to the 200 block of McDermot Avenue at about 2:30 Saturday morning. The man had been shot in his upper body.

The 21 year old was treated at the scene and rushed to hospital where he later died.

His death is the city’s 45th homicide of the year, breaking the 2019 record of 44 with almost two months to go.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
