3 Arrested for Armed Robberies in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged two men and a women for multiple armed robberies.

On August 21st a man, concealing his face, entered a convenience store on Osborne Street. The man pointed a firearm at an employee and demanded money and cigarettes. The man did receive an undisclosed amount of money and product. He then fled the store.

That same day, at 5:15PM, the male suspect, now with a woman and another man suspect, went to a pharmacy in the 600 block of Elizabeth Road. The two men entered the pharmacy while concealing their faces. One of the men pointed a firearm at an employee and made threats to kill them if drugs were not turned over. The man received an undisclosed amount of drugs and together the two men fled the store.

Witnesses in the area saw the suspects as they loaded a vehicle with the stolen items. They then left the area with the woman driving.

The investigation lead to the arrest, on August 22nd, of Kyle Kisik Schroeder-Bear, a 21-year-old man, who was charged with:

  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Police arrested the female suspect on August 30th. When police searched her they found and seized a number of items including the following:

  • Product that is believed to have been stolen during one of the incidents
  • 9 pills of Hydromorph-Contin
  • 4 pills of Hydromorph
  • 23 pills of Xanax
  • 2 small dime-bags of methamphetamine

The woman, Jessica Sadowiak, a 34-year-old from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance – Hydromorphone
  • Possession of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x5)

The second male suspect was arrested, Christopher Paul Simard, 33-years-old from Winnipeg, was been charged with:

  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm (x2)
  • Robbery
  • Disguise with Intent (x2)
  • Use of Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence (x2)
  • Pointing a Firearm (x3)
  • Possession of a Weapon (x2)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (x2)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

During the arrest police seized the following items from Simard:

  • Product that is believed to have been stolen during one of the incidents
  • Approximately $1,475 in Canadian currency.
