WINNIPEG - The south Osborne area of Winnipeg has been under attack with numerous thefts from homes under construction or being renovated. Tools and appliances have been taken from the homes and later sold online.
After investigating, police identified a male suspect with a female accomplice and the two were arrested on April 4 at a home on Nassau Street.
The two suspects have been arrested for the following incidents:
On February 14, 2019, the suspect used a stolen debit card at a gas station that had been stolen during a break and enter from a home on Hugo Street.
Between February 20 and February 21, 2019, the male suspect forced broke in to a home on Arnold Avenue. He took a number of bags of insulation and construction tools, valued at approximately $1500 dollars.
The male suspect then broke into to a neighbouring vacant home and stored the previously stolen bags of insulation in that vacant property. The insulation was later recovered by police, however, the tools remain outstanding.
On February 24, 2019, the male suspect again broke into a home on Arnold Avenue but did not take any items.
Between March 1 and 2, 2019 the suspect broke into a home on Rathgar Avenue and stole numerous tools.
Between March 1 and 5, 2019, the suspect broke into a home on Argue Street. He took several large appliances, including a stove, microwave oven, fridge, and other household items, valued at approximately $8000.
Video surveillance of the suspect was obtained in the area of the thefts, confirming the suspect male and a female were in possession of the stolen items.
29 year-old Jordan Tyler Wade Shannacappo, has been charged with:

Use of Credit Card
Break, Enter and Theft - Dwelling House X3
Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 X2
32 year-old Anna Unrau has been charged with:
Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Both have been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
