Stolen Car Speeds Into Oncoming Traffic

WINNIPEG – Air1 tracked a stolen car for almost 30 minutes while it drove erratically, ignoring traffic lights and speeding into oncoming traffic, narrowly avoiding a collision.

The stolen 2003 Mercedes Benz was first spotted by police at Broadway and Maryland. Air1 tracked him until a tire deflation device was used on the west Perimeter Highway near Centre Port Highway. Upon exiting the vehicle, the driver discarded a loaded shotgun, which was recovered by officers.

A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a hunting knife, pistol pellet gun and live ammunition. In addition, a cell phone and identification stolen during a robbery on February 4, 2020, were located in the vehicle.

The vehicle was reported stolen on February 9, 2020, from a parking lot in the 1000 block of Notre Dame.

32 year-old Lee Edward Douglas Pashe has been charged with numerous firearm, property, and driving offences.

He was remanded into custody.
