WINNIPEG - Another drug dealer was taken off the streets after the Guns and Gangs Unit executed a search warrant in an apartment suite downtown.
A male suspect was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of:
- Nine 4mg hydromorphone tablets (estimated street value of $135)
- .8 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $50)
- $980 in Canadian currency
A search of the man's suite resulted in the seizure of many items, including the following:
- A stolen .32 calibre handgun with eight rounds of ammunition in the magazine
- An additional 75 rounds of .32 calibre ammunition
- .55 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $40)
- 23 oxycodone tablets (estimated street value $230)
- $2,760 in Canadian currency
- Scales
- Drug packaging materials
- Score sheets
Police have charged 30 year-old Kelsey David Baerg with:
- Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Hydromorphone
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Scheduled Substance – Oxycodone
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
He was detained in custody.
