Search Warrant Leads to Drug Arrest

WINNIPEG – Another drug dealer was taken off the streets after the Guns and Gangs Unit executed a search warrant in an apartment suite downtown.

A male suspect was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of:

– Nine 4mg hydromorphone tablets (estimated street value of $135)

– .8 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $50)

– $980 in Canadian currency

A search of the man’s suite resulted in the seizure of many items, including the following:

– A stolen .32 calibre handgun with eight rounds of ammunition in the magazine

– An additional 75 rounds of .32 calibre ammunition

– .55 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $40)

– 23 oxycodone tablets (estimated street value $230)

– $2,760 in Canadian currency

– Scales

– Drug packaging materials

– Score sheets

Police have charged 30 year-old Kelsey David Baerg with:

– Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime

– Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

– Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm

– Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

– Possession of Scheduled Substance – Hydromorphone

– Possession of Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine

– Possession of Scheduled Substance – Oxycodone

– Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

He was detained in custody.
