Phone Finder App Tracks Stolen Vehicle

WINNIPEG – The victim of a stolen vehicle used a a phone finder application to track his vehicle until police arrived.

The vehicle was taken after it was left running outside of a business on Main Street at 3:00 am on March 17. The victim tried to stop the car but wasn’t successful.

Fortunately, the victim had left his cell phone in the car and used a phone application to track the vehicle. He found his vehicle at about 10:25 that morning on Leila Avenue, and when he approached the vehicle the suspect jumped out and ran away.

The victim along with some help from security officers who were in the area, chased him down and held him until police arrived.

24 year-old Justin Gledhill has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 and was remanded into custody.
