Niverville Man Arrested for Dangerous Driving

WINNIPEG – WInnipeg Police arrest a man from Niverville early Tuesday morning for dangerous driving.

On March 17, 2020, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Central District General Patrol officers observed an uninsured black Acura Integra in the area of Portage Avenue and Maryland Street. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle near Wellington Crescent and Waverley Street. The vehicle was driven onto a boulevard in an attempt to avoid police, at which time it collided with a cruiser car, causing minor damage.

The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device, and the vehicle came to a stop at Wellington Crescent and Lindsay Avenue. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot but was located and arrested in the area.

Jordan Elias Friesen 24-years-old from Niverville, was arrested and charged with Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and four highway traffic act offences.
