K-9 Tracks Down Impaired Driver

WINNIPEG - A 48-year-old Winnipeg man was charged with Impaired Driving after hitting a hydro pole and taking off on foot.

Police said on Friday they received a call that reported an older recreational/motorhome-style vehicle strike a hydro pole and a number of people, including a male driver, fled on foot.

The force of the collision sheared the hydro pole and caused a power outage in the area.

Officers also met with two adult women and a 2-year-old child in the area which are believed to have been the other occupants that had fled the crash site.

James Bradley Porth, a 48-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Driving While Ability Impaired
  • Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample – Breath
