Indigenous Woman's Body Found At Brady Landfill

Woman's Body Found

WINNIPEG - Police say the remains of a 33 year old Indigenous woman have been found at Brandy Landfill just south of Winnipeg.

Investigators say Linda Mary Beardy's death is being treated as a homicide but they do not believe it is linked to the death of Rebecca Contois whose remains were also found at Brady last year.

Inspector Shawn Pike says they also do not think Beardy's death is linked to the deaths of Morgan Harris or Marcedes Myran whose bodies are believed to be in a different landfill north of the city.

Jeremy Skibicki is charged with first degree murder in the deaths of Cantois, Harris and Myran, as well as an unidentified woman Indigenous leaders have named Buffalo Woman.
