Condo Burglar Arrested After Crashing in Snowbank

Burglar Arrested After Crashing in Snowbank

WINNIPEG - Thieves broke into a condominium complex on Creek Bend Road, breaking into several vehicles in the parkade and stealing one, using a spare key that had been left in the car.

The stolen car was located later that morning by police and when they attempted to stop it, it fled away a high speed. Police did not pursue out of concern for public safety.

A short time later, officers located the vehicle abandoned after it had crashed into a snowbank in the area of King Edward Street and St. Matthews Avenue.

The K9 Unit tracked it to a garbage dumpster at the rear of a business on Berry Street and the suspect was found hiding inside.

Further investigation determined the male is also believed to be responsible for a break & enter to a condominium complex on Dovercourt Drive in September 2017.
