Bar Fight on Corydon Leads to Arrests and Drug Seizure

WINNIPEG – A bar fight on Corydon led to the seizure of $20,000 of illegal marijuana and cocaine.

The investigation began on July 13 when police responded to a bar on Corydon that a man was armed with a firearm.

When they arrived all involved parties had fled but they learned that a group of Hell’s Angels had confronted a man and assaulted him. He responded by pulling out a firearm and threatening the group.

Members of the Organized Crime Unit and Biker Enforcement Unit initiated an investigation and identified the suspect who was believed to have been armed with the firearm.

During the afternoon of July 24, 2019, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 500 block of Clifton Street. Two people were taken into custody, and a number of items were seized, including the following:

– Approximately $6,000 in Canadian currency

– 42 grams of cocaine

– 82 grams of an unknown powder

– Drug packaging materials

– A digital scale contaminated with a substance

– A hydraulic press contaminated with a substance

– Brass knuckles

– A slide and barrel for a pistol

– 16 rounds of .308 Winchester ammunition

– A grow operation consisting of 12 plants of cannabis marijuana (772 grams, estimated street value of $13,440)

– Dried marijuana bud (210 grams, estimated street value of $2,100)

– Marijuana shake (594 grams, estimated street value of $2,970)

– Approximately $2,535 in marijuana grow equipment

33 year-old Ryad Ashley Insanali has been charged with:

– Assault with a Weapon (x5)

– Possession of a Weapon (x3)

– Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition

– Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition

– Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

– Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

– Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Obtained by Crime

– Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x8)

– Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

– Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime

– Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

– Possession of Cannabis Known to be Illicit (Cannabis Act)

– Possession of More Than 4 Cannabis Plants That are Not Budding or Flowering (Cannabis Act)

– Cult, Prop or Harvest Without Authorization at a Place Not Their Dwelling-House or Offer to Do So (Cannabis Act)

He was detained in custody.

A 34-year-old female of Winnipeg will be charged with:

– Possession of a Weapon

– Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

– Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon

– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

– Possession of Cannabis Known to be Illicit (Cannabis Act)

– Possession of More Than 4 Cannabis Plants That are Not Budding or Flowering (Cannabis Act)

– Cult, Prop or Harvest Without Authorization at a Place Not Their Dwelling-House or Offer to Do So (Cannabis Act)

She was released on an Appearance Notice.

Members of the Organized Crime Unit and Biker Enforcement Unit continued with their investigation and identified the suspect of the initial assault, who is a full-patch Hells Angels member.

On September 4, 2019, the male suspect turned himself in at the HQ building.

38 year-old Travis Timothy Pallister has been charged with:

– Assault
