3 Shootings, 3 Stabbings

WINNIPEG - In almost eight hours last night, Winnipeg police responded to three shootings and three stabbings.

- On April 11, 2021, at 8:34 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Corydon Avenue for a report of shots that had been heard from behind a convenience store. Soon after, a male in his 20’s attended a nearby hospital with gunshot wound injuries.

- At 10:32 p.m., officers responded to a shelter in the South Point Douglas area after a female in her 40’s had been found with a stab wound injury. She was subsequently transported to hospital in unstable condition.

- On April 12, 2021, at 12:24 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Young Street for a report of shots that had been heard in the area. Soon after, a male in his 30’s attended a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound injury.

- At 1:42 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Sherbrook Street for a report of a stabbing and located an injured male in his 40’s. It is believed he was assaulted near the 500 block of Portage Avenue. He was subsequently transported to hospital in unstable condition.

- At 2:08 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Pritchard Avenue for a report of a stabbing and located an injured teenage female. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. A female in her 20’s was placed under arrest and taken into custody.

- At 3:59 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Furby Street for a report of shots that had been heard in the area. No injuries were reported, however there was gunshot damage to a nearby residence.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating all six matters. At this point, it's unclear is any of the incidents are related.
