19 & 20 -Year-Old Charged with Cocaine Possession

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Police seized drugs from two men on Sunday while officers were driving near Main Street and Selkirk.

Police said on December 29 around 11PM a patrol unit noticed a vehicle with a rear licence plate obscured with snow.

A short time after the stop a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 29 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine (packaged in different denominations, estimated street value of $2,640), two mobile devices and $1,810 in Canadian currency.

Police said they charged Okoth Obeing, a 19-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

– Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

A second man, 18-years-old from Winnipeg will be charged with:

– Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
