Winnipeg's Bombers & Riders Tonight

Bombers & Riders Tonight

WINNIPEG - Week 17 in the CFL kicks off tonight at IG Field with another showdown between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Both teams are coming off their bye weeks. The Bombers last played on September 17th, falling in Hamilton to the Ti-Cats 48-31 while the Roughriders were embarrassed at home losing 26-24 to the lowly Edmonton Elks the night before.

Saskatchewan will be looking for revenge after losing by 34 points in Winnipeg two weeks ago. The Blue Bombers have already won the season series with the Riders following victories in the Labour Day Classic (20-18) and the Banjo Bowl (54-20). Winnipeg has won six straight against the Roughriders dating back to the 2019 Western Final and is 9-2 in its last 11 versus Saskatchewan.

Over 30,000 fans are expected to once again watch the defending champs easily defeat a team even their head coach Craig Dickenson calls “not very good”. Saskatchewan is 6-8 overall, but just 2-7 in their last nine games. The 12-2 Blue Bombers will have no trouble handing their green rivals their fourth straight loss. Kickoff is 7pm (680 CJOB, TSN 3).
