Winnipeg's Bombers In Ottawa Tonight

Bombers In Ottawa Tonight

WINNIPEG - After earning a last minute victory last week against Ottawa at IG Field, the rematch is set for tonight at TD Place Stadium as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers face the Redblacks in the Nation’s capital.

The Bombers, who were outplayed last week, relied on Marc Liegghio’s field goal late in the fourth quarter to win 19-17. The game winning drive was led by backup QB Dru Brown who relieved Zack Collaros after a CFL spotter in Toronto deemed Collaros needed to go into concussion protocol after a shot to the noggin. Collaros is fine and will start tonight’s game, but he will have to be sharper; last week’s performance was subpar; he completed only 18 passes for 188 yards. The Bombers total offense was 289 yards compared to the RedBlacks 431.

That being said, the game was essentially a preseason game for Collaros and a lot of Winnipeg’s other key starters. The Bombers will also have all-star defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat back in the lineup after missing last week’s game with an ankle injury so don’t expect Ottawa’s Jeremiah Masoli to have any kind of success.

Expect the Bombers to have a big night and get back on track. Game time is 6:30pm (680 CJOB, TSN3).
