Winnipeg's Andrew Harris Expected To Start for Bombers

Harris Expected To Start

WINNIPEG - Nobody expected the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to go 14-0 during the regular season. However, no one expected the Bombers to lose to the Toronto Argonauts last week in embarrassing fashion either. Winnipeg has a chance to regroup against the “shell of their former selves” Calgary Stampeders tonight at IG Field. The Stamps sit last in the CFL’s West Division and have only one win after beating the Alouettes last week.

The Bombers defense got off to a slow start last week in Toronto, but don’t expect that to happen again at home. After being non-existent in last week’s 1st quarter, the D rebounded and ended up sacking Nick Arbuckle four times. Calgary fill-in QB Jake Maier (Bo-Levi Mitchell is out with a broken leg) will have to watch out for Bombers defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat, who had three of the sacks last week, more than the entire Calgary defense has had all year.

The Bombers have the offensive tools to run wild on the Stampeders. With Andrew Harris expected to be back, OC Buck Pierce will put together a plan and use the skills of Harris and Zack Collaros to hand Calgary their third straight defeat against the Big Blue.

Game time is 6pm.
