WINNIPEG - The Bombers finished the 2021 season a perfect 7-0 at home with a 31-21 win over the Montreal Alouettes Saturday night, the first time they have been perfect at home since going 8-0 at the old Winnipeg Stadium in 1984. It should be noted the Blue Bombers won the Grey Cup that year as well. IG Field is proving to be a tough place for visiting teams; Winnipeg is now 18-1 in their last 19 at home dating back to the fall of 2018.
Zach Collaros went 21 of 33 passes for 280 yards with TD tosses to Nic Demski and Drew Wolitarsky. Collaros is now 15-1 as a starter since he joined the team in 2019. The defense came up big again with two interceptions; one by Adam Bighill, the other by DeAundre Alford, and they held the Als scoreless in the 4th quarter, the 10th time they have done that this season and now have outscored their opponents
116-6 in the final 15 minutes. Sergio Castillo connected on three of his four field-goal attempts, from 22, 34 and 47 yards. He did miss from 38 yards.
The Bombers face the Alouettes again this Saturday at noon in Montreal (TSN 3, 680 CJOB).
