WINNIPEG - The Blue Bombers will host the Roughriders in the CFL western final next Sunday at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg.
Saskatchewan beat the Calgary Stampeders 33-30 in double overtime last night at Mosaic Field In Regina. Brett Lauther kicked a 34 yard field goal for the win. The Stamps forced OT with a 47 yarder with less than a minute to go in regulation.
The Bombers' marketing department is loving this matchup against the Riders. It will be much like the annual Banjo Bowl but with way more on the line, a trip to the Grey Cup in Hamilton on December 12th.
Even though they lost their last two games of the regular season, the Bombers are heavy favourites to win the west and then the cup once again like they did in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the east, Hamilton defeated Montreal 23-12 to advance to the eastern final against Toronto.
