Bombers In BC Tonight

WINNIPEG - With first spot in the West Division locked up, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (14-2) are opting to rest several stars when they face the B.C. Lions (10-5) tonight in Vancouver (10-5).

Dru Brown make his first CFL start, as Zach Collaros will rest up for the playoffs. Several veteran offensive linemen will also get the night off, including Jermarcus Hardrick, Patrick Neufeld and Stanley Bryant. Brown has seen limited action this season, completing five-of-seven pass attempts for 127 yards and two touchdowns but has been dressed for all 16 games.

The Lions are coming off a 23-20 loss in Toronto last week and have dropped two of the last three games entering tonight. B.C. are in a fight for second place in the West Division with the Calgary Stampeders. Both teams have identical records, and both want to claim that spot which would guarantee themselves a home playoff date in the West Semi-Final.

Kickoff is 9:00pm (680 CJOB, TSN 3). The Bombers will be on a bye the following week before hosting the Lions on Friday, Oct. 28 to finish the regular season.
