Bombers Clinch West Final

WINNIPEG - Like a shark that smelled blood in the water, rookie receiver Dalton Schoen caught three touchdown passes and running back Brady Oliveira scored twice as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers clinched first place in the CFL West Division for the second straight season with a dominating 48-11 victory over the Edmonton Elks Saturday night at IG Field.

After the Toronto Argonauts disposed of the B.C. Lions earlier in the afternoon, the Bombers punched their ticket to the West final scheduled to be played on November 13th, with their opponents yet to be named.

Winnipeg opened the game with four straight touchdown drives to take a 28-8 lead into halftime. The game seemed out of reach almost immediately, with Winnipeg racking up 342 yards of net offence, going a perfect 12 for 12 on second down conversions.

The 14-2 Bombers have 2 games left in the season both against the Lions, next week in Vancouver and Friday October 28th at home.

Tickets for the Western Final will first be available to season ticket and flex pack members starting Tuesday, October 11th at 10:00 am.
