Bombers & Als Play Again

WINNIPEG - The 11-1 Winnipeg Blue Bombers will make hopefully not their last trip East this year to play the Montreal Alouettes at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium this afternoon. As they have already punched their ticket to the Western Final, the Big Blue will be resting a number of starters today, most notably QB Zach Collaros. In his place will be back up Sean McGuire.

McGuire is in his second season with the Bombers and is a product of the University of Western Illinois During his time with the Fighting Leathernecks, he left as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards (9,819), passing touchdowns (72), completions (771) and attempts (1,291). His 9,819 passing yards ranks second all-time in the history of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. McGuire may have only completed four of 10 passes for 72 yards in his CFL career, but as a backup to Collaros, he routinely runs the Bombers offence on short yardage plays and has eight rushing TDs so far in 2021.

Montreal will once again start QB Trevor Harris; this will be the 5th time he has seen the Bombers this season, all in losses. The Als are 6-6 this season and will most likely finish 3rd in the East.

Game time is 12pm (TSN 3, 680 CJOB).
