Winnipeg Man Dies

WINNIPEG - A 40-year-old Winnipeg man died in a boating accident on the Lee River Sunday afternoon.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP respond to a fatal boating collision in the noon hour on Sunday near the Cape Coppermine boat launch on the Lee River in the RM of Lac du Bonnet.

Emergency Medical Services personnel provided medical assistance to the 40-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mounties said the 40-year-old man from Winnipeg, who was alone in the boat, collided with the shore and was ejected from the boat into the water. Bystanders quickly reached the man, brought him to shore, and provided first-aid until EMS arrived.

The male was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the collision.

RCMP continue to investigate to determine the cause of the collision is ongoing.
