Vax-A-Thon Tops 9K

WINNIPEG - Over 9,000 people walked in for a shot of COVID-19 vaccine during Wednesday's Vax-a-thon.

It's estimated 20 percent of the people who showed up at a supersite were there for their first dose.

30 per cent were young people between 12 and 17 years old.

The province says thousands of appointments for Moderna are available, some as soon as today.

Appointments for Pfizer vaccinations are available later this month.

More than 77 percent of eligible Manitobans have received their first jab in the arm, while over 60 percent are fully vaccinated.
