WINNIPEG - New COVID-19 restrictions are coming at the worst possible time for local restaurants.
Tony Siwicki, president of the Manitoba Restaurant and Foodservices Association, says the holiday food order at his restaurant came in just hours before the changes to public health orders were announced late Friday afternoon.
Siwicki's Silver Heights Restaurant and all others in the province can only operate at 50 per cent capacity starting on Tuesday with a maximum of 10 people per table.
Siwicki says 300 customers have already cancelled their reservations.
This is the fourth time restaurants have been hit with tougher measures right before a busy holiday.
Time to tell our overlords to go to hell!
