WINNIPEG - The province is not saying why but a new doctor has been put in charge of the task force tackling Manitoba's massive backlog of surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
David Matear takes over from Matthew Lister who was chosen when the task force was announced last December.
Matear is a former CEO of the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.
Doctors Manitoba says the backlog continues to grow, although the rate of that growth has slowed over the past month.
