Springs Church Going To Court

WINNIPEG - The province says it issued 96 warnings and 108 tickets last week for COVID-19 violations.

95 of the tickets were for $1,296 and given to individuals, mostly for illegal gatherings.

There were seven tickets for $298 for not wearing a mask.

And two businesses were fined $5,000 each.

Enforcement officials have issued a summons to attend court to Springs Church, for charges related to an incident on May 20th. The Church faces two counts of failing to abide by public health orders.

Since enforcement efforts began in April of 2020, a total of 4,823 warnings and 1,920 tickets have been issued, resulting in over $2.6 million in fines to businesses and people.
