WINNIPEG - The following special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada for southern Manitoba including Winnipeg:
Showers, possibly thunderstorms tonight.
A low pressure system currently centred in South Dakota will tap into very moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and produce heavy showers with a few embedded thunderstorms tonight.
While these showers and thunderstorms will be moving relatively quickly, they will have the potential to produce torrential downpours. Widespread rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm are expected by Friday morning, with locally higher amounts in thunderstorms.
