Stone Sour and Halestorm to Play Winnipeg

Stone Sour at the Burt

WINNIPEG MB. – Chart topping rock band Stone Sour with co-headliner Halestorm will make their way to the Burton Cummings Theatre, February 5. Bringing along special guests The Dead Deads.

Stone Sour is riding high off its blockbuster new album Hydrograd, which rocketed to #1 on three Billboard charts following its June 30, 2017 release, including “Top Current Albums,” “Top Rock Albums,” and “Top Hard Rock Albums.”

“Our only real idea was to make a kick-ass rock and roll album,” says Corey Taylor, lead singer of Stone Sour and lead singer of Slipknot. “Let’s lean back, let the songs do the talking, and make the best rock and roll playlist, mix tape, that’s ever been made. That was the only thing we held to, and everything after that was so fucking easy.”

And with this attitude, the band came up with the fifteen songs on Hydrograd, displaying a range of sounds and styles that Taylor describes as “a real coming-out party for Stone Sour.” It’s not like the band is starting from zero—its five previous albums have sold more than two million copies, and earned them nine Top Ten Mainstream Rock singles (including, ”Bother” and “Through Glass,” which were certified gold and platinum respectively) and three Grammy nominations. But this time around, Stone Sour Taylor, guitarists Josh Rand and Christian Martucci, bassist Johny Chow, and drummer Roy Mayorga expands into new musical territory with supercharged impact.

Joining Stone Sour is hard rock band Halestorm consisting of siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale. Widely acknowledged as one of modern hard rock’s most explosive live acts, Grammy Award winning band Halestorm recently released their third studio album INTO THE WILD LIFE. Recorded last year in Nashville with GRAMMY® - nominated producer Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant, Eric Church) at the helm, “INTO THE WILD LIFE” is highlighted by the historic new single, “Apocalyptic.” The track recently ascended to the top at Active Rock radio outlets nationwide in an astounding nine weeks –the first time a female - fronted band has scored #1 hits at the format three times as well as the first to have #1 songs from two consecutive albums. Furthermore, “Apocalyptic” has hit #1 at Mainstream Rock radio, marking Halestorm as the fourth - ever female - led act to top the format more than once. As if that weren’t enough, the song’s electrifying companion video has drawn over 2 million individual views thus far at Halestorm’s official YouTube channel

Ticket prices start at $49.50, plus fees and are on sale now.
