WINNIPEG - The sexual assault trial of a rural Manitoba doctor is on hold while the Crown and police track down evidence that may have been lost or destroyed.
Doctor Arcel Bissonnette is facing 22 sexual assault charges for alleged offences against a number of female patients when he worked in Ste. Anne.
The former lead investigator in the case told the judge she kept detailed records in notebooks which she left with the Ste. Anne Police Service when she accepted a new job in 2019.
The defence says there are significant concerns about the investigation because they have only received a few pages of notes.
