WINNIPEG - RCMP continue their search for a man who is presumed drowned.
Police said on October 30th at 7:15PM Gypsumville RCMP responded to a report that a 22-year-old man from Pinaymootang First Nation had fallen off the old train bridge in Fairford. The bridge is known to local residents as the "black bridge," and it crosses the Fairford River.
The man was with friends when he fell into the water, but they lost sight of him. It was dark at the time of the incident, and the currents were strong.
Mounties conducted a search yesterday with the local fire department, and community volunteers, but the man was not located.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident.
The search is continuing today.
