Reserves Offer Others Vaccines

WINNIPEG - Some Manitoba First Nations are offering to vaccinate non-indigenous people.

Sandy Bay is one aboriginal community prepared to inoculate spouses of band members and people who work on the reserve.

Two Winnipeg families with adult children who have special needs registered with Sandy Bay and made the trip.

Long Plain has also offered nearby residents the vaccine.

Dr. Marcia Anderson of the First Nations pandemic response team says it's up to each reserve to decide how it wants to use its supply of COVID-19 vaccines.
