WINNIPEG - The RCMP's former commissioner warned federal officials in December that searching a landfill north of Winnipeg for the remains of slain Indigenous women would be too complex for police.
Brenda Lucki, who resigned in March, was involved in discussions about scouring the privately-owned Prairie Green Landfill late last year.
Lucki cautioned those federal officials that the site contained asbestos and other toxic gases, including ammonia.
It's believed the remains of Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran are in the landfill.
