Province-Wide Liquor Strike In Manitoba

Province-Wide Liquor Strike

WINNIPEG - The president of the Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union says a province-wide strike by liquor workers will go on for the foreseeable future.

Kyle Ross says Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries is a very profitable corporation and it can afford fair and reasonable wage increases for its employees.

MGEU members have been holding short-term walkouts since July but decided to ramp up their job action.

Liquor and Lotteries says stores still open in Winnipeg are staffed by non-unionized employees from across the corporation.
