WINNIPEG - Time spent outdoors can be good for you.
And now, a program that actually prescribes time in nature has expanded to Manitoba.
PaRx: A Prescription for Nature allows doctors, pharmacists and others in the medical field to prescribe a hike in a forest or an hour on a bench in a park.
Manitoba co-ordinator Anna Reed says time spent outdoors can reduce anxiety, increase energy and improve heart health.
The program has already been a success in BC, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
