WINNIPEG - Manitoba premier Heather Stefanson says she is encouraged that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wants to meet with the provinces to discuss health care funding.
Stefanson chairs the premiers' Council of the Federation which will sit down with the PM on February 7th instead of talking through the media.
The premiers want Ottawa to increase what it hands out for health care but Trudeau says they would have to show how the money would be used to improve patient care.
Stefanson says she is willing to discuss more data collection but cannot make any commitments until the premiers see exactly what the feds are proposing.
